Welcome to 2022. Where do we start? What can we say? The last two years have been a lot and this year looks set to throw up some similar challenges and chaos but instead of giving up before we’ve even got out of January we’d like to draw your attention to a quote from the legendary Betty Reid Soskin, who featured in our seventh issue. Having lived through war, segregation, the civil rights movements and many other pivotal moments and movements in between Betty always looked forward, “I see chaos as an opportunity for change, there’s an excitement in the chaos.”

So, even though the memes are pointing out that 2022 reads as an ominous “2020 too” everything is, as yet, unwritten. Maybe we can create our own opportunities, maybe we can start our own shit and out of the uncertainty take control of something in our lives?

To give you some inspiration we’ve spoken to a range of women who have all started something whether that’s a business, a movement, a podcast, or a new daily habit. We’ve asked them all how they got started, what they do when things get rough and what advice they’d give to others looking to make similar moves.

We’ll be adding new voices to the series as we move through January so check back in for more inspiration.

Our online January issue is available for members to read as part of their monthly benefits. If you’d like to sign up, you can join here.
