The Making of a Pioneer
In partnership with Toast
Venturing into the unknown as a pioneer in any field can be a lonely experience. It takes determination, a strong mind and a sense of humour when things inevitably go awry along the way. The word pioneer originally comes from the old French paonier, meaning a foot soldier who prepares the way. This idea still resonates today.
The new A/W collection from lifestyle brand Toast focuses on the making of a pioneer, and so together we wanted to celebrate the women we feel are carving out a new path for others to follow. Across the following pages we share the journeys of three women who are innovating, experimenting and expanding our minds across design, art, literature and science. Their work takes risks and challenges conventional wisdom, their stories are rich and inspiring.
Riposte and Toast are proud to introduce our modern pioneers.
